Let me explain that first line because it sounds really bad...It's not because of Warren or anything like that. I wasn't expecting much because I have never really had a "GREAT" birthday before. Don't get me wrong I've had some really nice birthdays but they have all been rather predictable and I have a way a working myself up about my birthdays, you know where you get all excited and then the days comes and you're some what disappointed because you worked yourself up to much. It's hard to explain but as a result of this I have kind of learned to not expect much from birthdays and that way when the day comes I am excited and surprised and enjoy my birthday that much more...moving on...

My husband is the BEST! On my birthday I came home to a bouquet of beautiful flowers, my favorite pizza and the fish tank was all set up. I was so excited to come home from work and not have to worry about dinner or anything. Then when Warren came home from his night class we watched a movie together in the theater room. It was the perfect birthday. The day after my birthday Warren had work so I had plans with a friend to go out to dinner. After dinner we decided to go back to my apt to watch a movie in the theater room. When we walked into the club house a dozen of my friends and family jumped out and started singing happy birthday! I was soooooo surprised! I couldn't believe it! Warren made me the best birthday cake ever!!!! It was chocolate with raspberry filling and chocolate frosting!!! YUMMM!!! It was so good! He had made punch, brought chips and dips and decorated with streamers and balloons! It was so amazing! I was in shock the whole night because I had never been so surprised in my life! I had absolutely no idea he had been planning this! Then everyone told me he had been planning this for two weeks now...he is amazing...how he did it I do not know! The rest of the night was fun, we played games and laughed with friends...but that wasn't all...

Saturday we both had work in IF and after work Warren took me out to my favorite restaurant, Johnny Carinos! Then we went home and watched a movie with some friends. It was the BEST birthday ever!!!!!!! I have never had such a great birthday in my life!!!! Thank you Warren you really are the BEST HUSBAND EVER! I love you so much! I didn't think that it would be that hard to do. It really was. We really didn't have any place for her to run around and we really didn't have a whole lot of time for her with our busy schedules. I put her on freecycle and the response was immediate.
This was the first email that I got. It really touched me and I felt like that Roxcy should go to this family.

Wow, we have been searching for another dog, but have
not had enough money to find what we really want. We
already have one beagle that we love more than
anything, we have had her for 9 years and are getting
a little worried about what her time frame of life
might be. Anyway, we have two little boys that love
her to death and we are worried that the transition of
loosing our dog will be hard on them. I guess to make
a long story short, we would like to find a dog before
we lose our first one.
We are familiar with the beagle bread. We have a
fully fenced yard for her to play in and two loving
boys to take care of her.

It would melt my heart, if you would even consider
giving her to us. You do not have any idea how much
our family would appreciate her in our home. Please
call me if you would be willing to let her be ours. I
would be more than happy to pick her up today any
time.

Breanne called a couple of the emails and met with them and she felt the same way about the first email. Roxcy was picked up tonight and it was a tearful goodbye. We will miss her so much but we know that she will be happy with her new family. She has kids to play with and a yard to run around in. We will miss you Foxcy Roxcy.

These shoes were made for walkin'

So as some of you know, for my birthday Breanne threw me a shoe party. She wasn't too happy with the condition of my shoes, although I thought they were fine. They were comfortable and still had some miles left in them. Everyone donated some money for me to get a new pair of shoes. I had put off doing it due to moving and going to school. Monday I finally had to give in after the snow started to turn to slush. so these are my new shoes. They need to be broken in so that they become as comfortable as my old vans but I think they will be great. I had to look for bargains though because I needed new running shoes as well. My Shox just weren't doing it any more. So I got two new pairs of shoes for a really good price! Thanks everyone!

My Failing Health and My Loving Husband!

The Disease....
Well, as some of you know my health hasn't been the greatest since we moved to Idaho. I suppose it's just stress wearing down my immune system but either way it's been tough. The first week I got here I had some sort of virus which turned into bronchitis...to say the least that was not fun! Then, last weekend I was feeling a little lightheaded and then I got a headache which quickly and violently turned into a major migraine! I just thought I was a little dehydrated so I laid down to rest but then I started to feel nauseous and I just knew it had to be a migraine. For those of you who have ever had a migraine you know what I'm talking about and for those of you who haven't you can never possibly imagine the kind of pain that comes from a migraine!!!!!! This was my first and hopefully my last! I threw up twice, then Warren and my grandpa gave my a blessing and some medicine, then I threw up the medicine, and then Warren took me to the emergency room. They confirmed it was a migraine, gave me a shot for the nausea and some sweet pain pills for the pain! We got home, waited an hour to take the pills and I officially threw up everything in my stomach a half hour later. The next day I woke up around noon feeling a lot better, but still a little light headed which was probably just from the pain pills. Now enough about me and on to the real reason for writing this blog...

My Husband!
I'm not writing this so everyone can pity me or sympathize with me, I'm quite over everything. During these last couple of weeks i have been so amazed at how much Warren really and truly loves me and how much I love him. It's not that I've never known that or that I was doubting that or something, it's because I was so helpless and I really needed someone to take care of me and he was there the whole time. He took such great care of me and he was so concerned for my well being. I can't even describe the emotions. There wasn't a lot he could do to help me but he wanted so desperately to try. He would have done anything just so I could feel better and be healthy again. I am so grateful for such a wonderful, kind and caring husband! He is so amazing I don't know what I would have done without him and I don't know what I would ever do without him. With the recent passing of a couple very wonderful men I was surprised to find that I wasn't very sad that they were gone but instead I was mostly sad that I could lose my husband just like that and there would be nothing I could do to stop it. Life is so unpredictable you never know when it's going to end. The thought of loosing my dear husband, Warren is so deeply troubling to me it's hard to bare. I don't think I've ever felt this deeply for someone before. Warren is everything to me! I don't know how I could ever live without him! I am so grateful to have him in my life! Life is too precious to let it pass us by we need to make the most of it everyday and we need to be thankful for the ones we love because we never know when we will loose them. However, it is comforting to know that we are sealed together for eternity and we can be together forever! I love you Warren! Always and Forever!

In Memory of Ryan Ellsworth

It's been a difficult weekend for me. Besides the fact that my health is failing me, I learned terrible news that a very dear friend of mine had died late friday night. Ryan Ellsworth and I have known each other since elementary school. In middle school I could always count on him to ask me to dance at the stake dances. He was a very good friend of mine through high school as well and we occasionally went on dates and went to dances together. The time I remember best about Ryan was when we went to TWIRP together. We wore matching shirts with cowboys on them and cowboy hats. Fun times! He was always a gentleman. I could always count on him to open the door for me. He loved to tease and was always planning something mischievous. One time I was at a party at his house and to get back at him for one of his pranks my friends and I TP'd his car with toilet paper we stole out the trunk of his car! LOL! Ryan was a great guy and although it's sad to know he is no longer with us it is good to know that he has a greater purpose to fulfill. I am sure he accomplishing many great things right now. Nonetheless he will be missed.

Testimony of a Prophet

Back in Iceburg, I mean Rexburg

So I know it has been a while since our last post (7 months and 22 days to be exact). So here is an update on what we have been up to. After the summer semester we moved Back to the Tri-Cities into my parents basement to save some money and get some bills paid off. Breanne got a job working at Olive Garden and was working for her Dad off and on as well. I was working at Staples part time and then they opened up a new Target where i got a job full time as a security guard. We also bought a Purebred beagle which as of now we still have her. her name is Roxcy and she is so sweet. we don't have a place to put her right now so we are going to try and sell her and maybe try to get another dog when we buy a house. We had a good Christmas it was pretty low key, nothing too exciting we went to Breanne's dads house for Christmas eve, her moms house for Christmas morning, and my parents house for Christmas dinner. We had a good anniversary and New years as well. I moved up to Rexburg last Wednesday and Breanne came up on Friday. Breanne has been getting over a cold but she is doing alot better. The Doctor said she might have bronchitis. Thank you to everyone for all the birthday wishes. I had three birthday parties thrown for me this year. The most i have ever had. it was fun but i am all birthdayed out. I am now working for the college and once i get my schedule figured out i will be returning to the target here as a security guard as well. I am in the Computer Science program here and i am minoring in Criminal Justice. After that i am hoping to go get my helicopter pilots license in Idaho Falls. I am hoping that I can keep up on this blog more regularly. Now that i am back in rexburg maybe life will be a little bit more exciting.

All You Wanted to Know and More, Much More!

What was I doing ten years ago?

Well when you're only 20, ten years is half of your life! That's a long time! Let's see here...I was in the 4th and 5th grade Spectrum class at Edwin Markham Elementary. That summer I took a steer to the fair and my one and only brother Bryan was born in July.

What was i doing one year ago?

I moved back home to the Tri-Cities for the summer to work for my Dad. I had a rough winter semester at BYU-I and decided it would nice to go home spend time with family and not deal with boys for a while because 1) Boys are too much trouble 2) I knew there were absolutely no boys back home that I was interested in and 2) I would never marry someone from the TC. Then a friend talked me into going to the Singles Branch with her and it was all down hill from there. I met Warren at an FHE activity and it wasn't long after that we started dating and the rest is history...lol! I can't believe I've known Warren for a whole year now, it seems like just yesterday and yet I feel like I've known him forever! Weird, huh?

Five snacks I enjoy:

Ice Cream
Oreo's dipped in milk
Onion Blossom or onion rings
Cheese sticks
Carrot sticks

Five songs I know all the words to:

To be honest I really can't narrow it down to five songs, I know the words to almost every song so I'll just name a few of my favorite bands!

Weezer
Death Cab for Cutie
Yellowcard
Plain White T's
Jack's Mannequin
Dashboard Confessional
Motion City Soundtrack
(the list goes on and on!)

Five things I would do if I was a Millionaire:

Learn to Scuba Dive
Take a real Honeymoon to some Tropical Paradise where we can scuba dive!
Buy a House
Buy two new Cars, one for me and one for my Hubby
Buy Warren a Motorcycle

Five of my MANY bad habits:

Procrastination
Eat too many sweets (I have a major sweet tooth!)
Sleeping in til 11 (I know that's almost half the day!)
not doing the dishes til the sink is over flowing
Spoiling surprises (I hate surprises! I guess the first big news is our big apartment. While Breanne was at home, I moved us in our new apartment. I think she just wanted to stay at home so she could get out of moving. Oh well. We are moved in and we love it.
The next big news is that I got a new job. Then I got another one. And then another one. I had a friend call and ask me if I wanted to work in a local grocery stores bakery. I thought it would be better than making phone calls so I said sure and got an interview. I got hired without an interview. And I started the next Monday. No training, I wasn't told how much I was making, never met the manager, nothing. So I started looking for another job. I then found one working in the men's locker room at the college. When I went to meet with the manager of the locker room I found out that I would be working 3 hours a week. Then that day I got a call from campus security. They offered me a job doing building lock-up. It is 20 hours a week and pays way better than the other jobs I was doing and I get a lot more hours.
Breanne got a couple of new jobs too. She now works at Bearworld and JBs. She is very excited to stop making phone calls.

For mothers day Breanne got her fish tank put together. We bought the rest of the supplies we needed to get it set up and got her some fish. Since then though the fish have all died. We aren't sure why. Oh well Wal-mart has a 90 day guarantee on their fish.
This was the scene from our apartment window this morning. Breanne wasnt too happy but I loved it. My russian teacher told the class that there is a saying about Rexburg. You can ski here 10 months out of the year and the other 2 months it is too cold.

Easter!

To start off our Easter celebration we had an easter egg hunt on Saturday at my Grandma and Grandpa Flanary's house. It was fun! My family was there, my aunt and uncle from Utah and there kids were there and of course my aunt and uncle form rexburg and there kids were there. We had lots of fun together!

Sunday we spent most of our day in a car driving to the Tri-Cities, not the best way to spend the holiday but Carol-Lynn's Easter dinner was calling our name! We arrived in Pasco just in time for dinner and stuffed ourselves full, then it was announced that there was a bunny relay race after dinner. At first I thought they were just joking around but I quickly discovered that this was definitely not a joke. Why didn't Warren warn me of this before I stuffed myself full of rolls? It was actually really fun, we had a good time hopping across the yard while waving our bubble wand. Needles to say you never know what to expect with the Beck family during the holidays, whether it's a greasy hat competition at Christmas or the bunny hop at Easter one thing's for sure I am going to better mentally prepare myself for the next holiday that the family gets together!

Graduation!

I know, I know it's been a really long time since we've made a post but we've just been sooo busy these last few weeks! But all the hard work paid off because I am now a college graduate! Yipee! Right? Well, it should be and it kind of is but not really because I'm not done with school, I still have two more years no matter what I decide to do. I can stay here for two more years and get a bachelors or do what I really want to do and go into a dental hygiene program (which will take two year as well). However graduation was very nice Elder Eyring and Elder Hales came and spoke and my family came and we had a fun time!

Rule # 1- Always Make Sure your House is Clean.....

....Because you never know who will want to come and visit. Tonight while we were in Idaho Falls, I got a phone call from an unknown number. I answered the call with hesitation. I should have followed my gut instincts. It was the stake high councilman. He wanted to meet with Breanne and I because our names had been recommended for a calling. We hadn't planned on being back until later but he wanted to meet us about 8:30. I told him that we probably wouldn't be home until about 9ish. He asked if he could come over then and we said that was ok and I gave him directions to our tiny apartment.
By this point Breanne was kind of freaking out because I was giving directions to our apartment and I had made an appointment with someone. When I got off the phone, she asked what was going on. I told her that the stake high councilman wanted to meet with us. Now she started freaking out a little more because she didn't know what he wanted, the apartment was a mess, and we had to hurry in IF.
We got our errands done and hurried through dinner and hurried back home. When we got home, we had a sink full of dishes and a lot of cleaning we had to do. Ok, so maybe not a lot because our apartment is so small but it was enough to keep us busy until he got here.
I decided that I should probably wear something a little nicer than my College Stud t-shirt so I went and quickly changed. Apparently I forgot to do a couple of things when I changed. I Have one of those cool transformer belts that one side is black and the other is brown. Well I forgot to twist it all the way around, so there was some black showing. The other thing i forgot to do was zip up my zipper. I didn't notice until we were halfway down with our meeting.
Anyways, We have been called to do name extractions in our stake for the temple. We are really excited for it. He almost didn't call us because we are moving to a different ward in the stake but he decided to anyways because we are staying in the stake. It was soooo much better than what we had going through our minds. So the moral of the story- keep your house clean, and when changing don't rush through it.

Busy, Busy, Busy

There has not been alot going on the past week. We have a birthday here! Well, yesterday we did at least. Yeah, that's right for those of you who didn't know, yesterday was my birthday. I was born on the 13th of March 1987, and to save you all the effort of doing the math, that means I turned 20. Yeah, no longer a teenager! I am now a responsible adult! LOL! Well, kind of.

I had a great day! I didn't have to go to work so that was very nice! Warren took me out to dinner at the Hard Hat Steakhouse & Grill! It was really good but kind of spendy for what we got, but still very good and a fun atmosphere! Then Warren took me to Cold Stone Creamery for my favorite ice cream...Peanut Butter Perfection! What's Peanut Butter Perfection, you ask, well it's only the most Delicious combination of chocolate ice cream, peanut butter and fudge swirls with peanut butter cups mixed in! Oh, it is soooo DIVINELY DELICIOUS!!!! Warren gave some sweet headphones (that actually fit in my ears) for my mp3 player! I love them sooo much and now I actually use my mp3 player, so even better! Warren also put our wedding pictures in our wedding album...I thought that was very sweet and thoughtful of him! He's so good like that!

Oh yeah! I almost forgot...Sunday we celebrated my birthday at Grandma and Grandpa Flanary's house with some aunts, uncles and cousins! It was fun! We had dinner and cake and ice cream. Warren made the cake and everyone complimented him on how delicious and moist it was...I was thoroughly impressed! I'm starting to think that he just acts like he doesn't know how to cook so he doesn't have to but secretly he is a world renouned baker/chef! I'm keeping an eye on you Warren! Anyways, it was a good birthday! So, yeah! I hope next is just as good!

Field trips- Definate Learning Experiences

Today for one of my classes we took a field trip to the weather station on the other side of campus. It was a pretty good hike. When we got to the street we needed to cross we stopped and waited for traffic. The side of the road closest to us stopped and we were waiting for the other side of the road to let us cross. A school bus stopped and was going to let us cross, but the bus behind it didn't see him stop until it was too late. The next thing we saw was the buses hitting and then one veering to the side of the road. It was really bad, it was almost as if the school bus didn't even hit the brakes. Every one was standing around and no one was helping. One other class member and I got on the back bus to see if everyone was OK. The bus driver had a broken arm and was pinned between her steering wheel and seat, and a lot of the kids had hit their heads on the seat in front of them. Some were bleeding quite a bit. We found the first-aid kit and started to put gauze where it was needed most- noses, mouths, foreheads, etc. One boy had hit his jaw and was complaining that he couldn't move it. We then helped the bus driver from out of her seat onto one of the benches to be more comfortable. Once the paramedics got there, I moved out of the way and asked if/where they needed me. I helped put a girl on a backboard after they put her in a C-collar. It was very sad to see. I overheard one boy complain that he wished that it had happened on the way to school so that they didn't have to go to class. He was one of the few that wasn't hurt. Once we were done helping on the bus we joined our class on the side of the road. Most were impressed that we got in there and started helping. I was just glad that I was able to start helping and that I knew enough to help out.

http://www.rexburgstandardjournal.com/articles/2007/03/06/news/doc45edd05a0c748883919464.txt

What a week!

It seems like its one of those times where it doesn't feel like a lot is going on but in reality there's a quite a bit that happened.
<?xml:namespace prefix = o />I thought I would be able to get away from the early morning hours from my old job but I guess that isn't the case. I found a job working at the college as a janitor at 4 in the morning. It’s not too bad, definitely better than driving, just not the shift I was hoping for. I am working at the doctors’ offices so it’s pretty good.
I guess the next big thing is that I finally talked Breanne into winter camping with me. It was quite an experience both of us, but I think it especially opened her eyes to what camping really is. Especially in the winter. We went to <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 />Island Park and snow shoed in about a mile. Since we left the college late, we didn't get there until after dark. Luckily there was a couple of snow machines brought up by the leaders so that we didn't have to pack in our gear. After a mile of hiking in the dark they picked up everyone so that we could get working on our shelters. We didn't bring a tent because we thought there would be enough daylight to build a snow cave. Boy we were wrong. It took us a couple of hours of piling snow and then another hour or two to dig it out. I thought that the snow cave and trying to stay warm would be our biggest hurdle but once again I thought wrong. Before the camp out we asked what we needed to bring as far gear. They just told us our personal things. Sleeping bags, snow gear, packs, things like that. Food was bought and provided for and stoves and fuel would be provided as well. But like always someone left out one minor detail. We had to pick up the stoves so that we could use them. Luckily our leaders had theirs that they brought. Tiny ones but they did the job.
After dinner we were both tired and though we should probably get some sleep. Since our packs and sleeping bags were sitting in the snow while we were digging and cooking they were FROZEN. Not just cold but frozen stiff. Breanne shivered for the first hour or so, and then finally warmed up after she put another layer on and we zipped our sleeping bags together.
The next day I was really excited for. We were to snowshoe to the top of the peak, and depending what we brought, we could snowboard, ski, or airboard down. We were told it would be about a 2 mile hike to the top. After what seemed to be about 2 miles, Bree and I were dying. We asked the leader how much further it was. ANOTHER 2 MILES! We knew we couldn’t make that so we turned around and headed back to the base camp, unloaded our stuff and made our way back to the vans. It turns out the peak was too far for everyone so they turned around eventually. We didn’t feel so bad after hearing that.
We were so sore and tired from our trip. It just made us recommitted to getting in to shape. I don’t think I am going to be able to get her to go winter camping again. We will see about the summer and how she does.
Finally, the other big thing is that I found another job on top of my Janitor job. I will be working at the same place as Breanne. So as of now, we have 2 classes together on Tuesdays and Thursdays, The outdoor leadership program, and work together. We will either be sick of each other by the end of the semester or draw closer together. I’m hoping for the latter.
That really has been our week in a nutshell. We have been staying busy and as the semester comes to an end we will probably get busier.

Call Pest Control!

For the last couple of weeks we've slowly had an infestation creep into our home! It's fuzzy and creepy and it's made it's permanent home right on Warren's lip! That's right Warren is growing a mustache! For those of you who are unaware, BYU-Idaho has a strict rule that all men are to be clean shaven, however they allow one form of facial hair and that is a mustache. Why mustaches? In my opinion mustaches are alot more creepy then a goatee or a beard. The only time I ever see mustaches is on wanted signs and on the mexicans in downtown Pasco. Perhaps mustaches were in style at one point in time but they definitely aren't anymore. Well, Warren is not the only one with this plague, a few of his friends, who are also attending BYU-I are growing mustaches. I must admitt it's pretty funny! But it's hard to take him seriously sometimes with that fuzzy lil' caterpillar under is nose!

Get on Your Dancin' Shoes!

This is the new dace we are learning in our dance class!

Nothing Like Getting Shoved In!

A couple of weeks ago Breanne and I decided that we would go snowshoeing with a group from the school. We thought it would be a great way to have some fun and relax a little.
Since we are going through the Outdoor Leadership Program, we have the opportunity to volunteer and help with the trips if we want to. I decided about 3 weeks ago that I would help with the trip. I hadn't heard anything from anyone so I thought I wasn't needed for the trip. I got a call Friday asking if I was ready to lead the trip the next day. THE NEXT DAY! I've never even been snowshoeing! I had no plans made for the trip, had no idea where I was going, I wasn't even certified to drive the vans! I made a few arrangements and got a lot of the things done that I needed to do but I still had no idea where I was going. They had changed the trip location from Mesa Falls to another place. Breanne and I decided to go and check it out. Luckily we did. The only signs that we saw said no snowshoeing and the ranger station was closed when we drove past.
I called my advisor and she told me to go with the other group that was snowshoeing at the state park. Since I had never been there I had no idea what the trails were like. We had a few that were experienced so that made it a bit easier. Well we got about 2 1/2 miles and there were a few that were just exhausted, me included. We pushed on and found some groomed trails that was much easier. Another 2 1/2 miles later we got back to the van and piled in. All except for 2 people fell asleep on the way home. Later after reading some information from the state park I found out that the trail we were on was the MOST difficult trail at the park. No wonder my legs are sore today!
All in all it was a good trip and we did enjoy it. I think Next time we will go on a little bit easier trail though!

Our First Post

Well I thought I would finally jump on the band wagon for blogging. I do have to admit that it is a great way to let people know what is going on. this is my first blog so it will probably be a little random.
Breanne and I are doing well here in the frozen tundra of Idaho. Although it is warming up and our parking lot now has a pool in it.
Our apartment is small but we are managing. We are both going to school full time and Breanne is working part time at an opinion Center. I am looking for a job as well, although if I do get one we would never see each other.
Bree is graduating this April with her associates and is trying to figure out what she wants to do while I go to school. We are in a Outdoor Leadership Training program together so we will be doing that for a couple of semesters. Other than that things are going as well as expected.
